What is an inorganic room elevator?

Traditional elevators have a computer room, where the main unit, control screen, and other components are placed. With the advancement of technology and the miniaturization of traction machines and electrical components, people are becoming less and less interested in elevator machine rooms. The inorganic room elevator is relative to the machine room elevator, which means that the machine room is omitted and the control screen, traction machine, speed limiter, etc. in the original machine room are moved to the shaft or replaced by other technologies.

What are the characteristics of inorganic room elevators?

The characteristic of inorganic room elevators is that there is no machine room, which reduces costs for construction companies. In addition, machine room elevators generally use frequency conversion control technology and permanent magnet synchronous motor technology, so they are energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and do not occupy space other than the shaft.

3. Development History of Inorganic Room Elevators In 1998, HIROLIFET in Germany launched its innovative design of inorganic room elevators driven by counterweights. Since then, the development of inorganic room elevators has been rapid. Due to its advantages such as not occupying computer room space, being environmentally friendly, and energy-saving, it is being adopted by more and more people. In recent years, 70-80% of newly installed elevators in Japan and Europe are machine room free elevators, and only 20-30% of elevators are machine room or hydraulic elevators.

4. The main solutions for current inorganic room elevators are:

(1) Top mounted: Place the permanent magnet synchronous traction machine at the top of the shaft with a traction ratio of 2:1, making the winding method more complicated;

(2) Bottom mounted: The permanent magnet synchronous traction machine is placed at the bottom of the shaft, with a traction ratio of 2:1 and a complex winding method;

(3) Car roof drive type: Place the traction machine on the car roof;

(4) Counterweight drive type: Place the traction machine on the counterweight.
